Well-known Zimbabwean singer Jah Signal has suffered a huge blow after The Charambas and Fishers of Men hit his songs Tengai Maguta, and Sweetie with copyright claims. Now the songs are no longer available for listeners on various digital streaming platforms like Facebook, YouTube, etc.
It is really a big blow for the Zimdancehall singer as the ‘Sweetie’ one had garnered over 6 million views on YouTube.
The Charambas have released a statement setting the record straight on why they have taken this decision after so many years since the songs were dropped. They stressed that Jah’s team released these songs without their consent and, worse their meanings which was not good for a song known to be Gospel.
Having accepted the reality and moved on, Jah Signal sampled another Charamba song ‘Tengai Mafuta’, which has now prompted them to act on both songs and other ‘infringing songs’ which had been spared for a long time.
