Thandeka Mhlanga, the woman who accused Sipho Ndlovu, star of ‘The Wife’, of assaulting her, has herself been taken into custody. Ndlovu alleges that Mhlanga threatened to tarnish his reputation after he ended their relationship. According to Mhlanga, the altercation occurred when she visited Ndlovu and discovered him with another woman, prompting her to report the alleged assault to the Cosmo City Police Station. She claimed to have filed a complaint but was awaiting a case number.
In an unexpected turn of events, Mhlanga has been arrested pending a court appearance. Ndlovu asserts that he possesses evidence suggesting Mhlanga initiated unwanted advances towards him, prompting him to seek legal protection against her accusations.
“I am not a woman abuser and have never been physically aggressive towards a woman,” Ndlovu stated. “Thandeka’s actions stem from her displeasure over our relationship ending. She explicitly threatened to ruin my public image.”
Ndlovu expressed regret over the situation but emphasized the need to defend his professional reputation. “This serves as a cautionary tale for individuals who attempt to defame others post-relationship,” he remarked.
Colonel Noxolo Kweza of the Gauteng Police confirmed Mhlanga’s arrest, detailing charges of assault, crimen injuria, and defamation of character. Mhlanga is scheduled to appear in Randburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
