Fashion business owner Pfadzani Exodus has accused singer and designer Londie London of stealing clothes. According to Sunday World, the dispute stems from a 2019 agreement in which Londie was to wear Exodus’s brand for free, in exchange for promoting it on social media and at high-profile events.
Exodus claims that Londie visited her boutique in Randburg, Johannesburg, and requested three clothing items to sell to her clients due to a lack of stock. Exodus provided items valued at R17,000, under the assumption that Londie, as an ambassador of the brand, would either promote or pay for them.
However, Exodus alleges that Londie neither paid for the clothes nor returned them. “I didn’t have an issue with her taking the clothes because she was supposed to be promoting my brand. I even mentioned that as long as she continued to wear and promote my label, I wouldn’t mind,” Exodus explained.
The situation has raised concerns about the integrity of brand partnerships and the expectations set in agreements between celebrities and fashion businesses.
