Mathias Mhere and Joyful Praise to headline family fun day festival in Harare

This Saturday, the vibrant and community-focused Family Fun Day Festival will take center stage at David Livingstone Primary School in Harare. The highly anticipated event will be headlined by renowned gospel artist Mathias Mhere and the high-flying gospel ensemble Joyful Praise, promising a day of soul-stirring music and communal celebration.

Organized by Viva Network Zimbabwe, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, particularly orphans, the festival aims to raise vital funds to benefit over 2,700 children in Harare. The event will feature a dynamic lineup of gospel music performers, including Wenyasha, Pastor Josh Kays, and King Cloxid, who will deliver powerful performances to uplift and inspire attendees.

Viva Network Zimbabwe’s Programme Coordinator, Basil Tembo, emphasized the event’s dual purpose: “What is the idea of the Family Fun Day, why the Family Fun Day, and what is it about? The Viva Network Zimbabwe Family Fun Day is a special event designed to bring the community together while raising vital funds to support over 2,700 vulnerable children in Harare.”

The festival will offer a range of activities designed to engage attendees of all ages. Fundraising efforts will feature a raffle draw with exciting prizes, including a television set, smartphone, iron, printer, stationary, and various hampers. Additionally, attendees can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities such as zumba, tug of war, bull rides, slides, and sack races.

“This musical experience will not only provide uplifting entertainment but also an opportunity to fellowship, praise, and worship God as the Christian community through powerful performances and ministrations by the gospel artists,” Tembo added.

Funds raised from the event will be directed towards critical support for vulnerable children, including educational sponsorship, birth registration, food, stationary, uniforms, sanitary wear for girls, and clothing. This support aims to address fundamental needs and enhance the quality of life for these children.

Tembo concluded, “By participating, attendees contribute to a noble cause that not only strengthens family bonds but also fosters community unity and raises awareness on important child protection issues.” The Family Fun Day Festival promises to be a memorable occasion, blending entertainment with a meaningful cause, and bringing the Harare community together in support of its most vulnerable members.
