Outspoken rapper Holy Ten has taken a stand against controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo, accusing him of meddling in the affairs of the Mtukudzi family after Chivayo donated a luxury vehicle to Daisy Mtukudzi, the widow of the late music legend Oliver Mtukudzi. Daisy has recently come under fire following allegations of abuse made by her step-daughters, Selmor and Sandra, who accused her of mistreatment during their upbringing. These allegations have shifted public sentiment against Daisy, who inherited Mtukudzi’s estate upon his passing.
On Tuesday, Wicknell announced his gift of a Toyota Fortuner 2.4D to Daisy, claiming it was a recognition of her late husband’s significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s music scene. However, Holy Ten criticized Chivayo for attempting to influence the Mtukudzi family’s fortunes with his wealth.
In a pointed response, Holy Ten wrote, “Apa Hapana zvawaita. Wangu get out of people’s lives. Nezuro waitsvaga Mukanya nhasi wakupindira nyaya dzekwa Mtukudzi. These are actual families that you think you can just change direction yavo using money. Cooler down Wicknell wakundisvota honestly.”
Chivayo’s remarks during the announcement emphasized Daisy’s status as Mtukudzi’s only recognized wife, highlighting the complexities of the family dynamics, given that Tuku was previously married to Melody Murape, Selmor and Sandra’s mother.
In his statement, Wicknell expressed, “As I continue to celebrate His Excellency PRESIDENT E.D Mnangagwa’s birthday, I decided to recognize the IMMENSE contribution by Dr. OLIVER ‘TUKU’ MTUKUDZI to the music fraternity and socio-political landscape in Zimbabwe. On that note, I say a big CONGRATULATIONS to MRS DAISY MTUKUDZI, the one and only official wife of the late great legend, whom I was introduced to before TUKU’s sad demise.”
Holy Ten’s comments reflect growing discontent regarding Chivayo’s perceived interference in personal matters, as the rapper calls for respect for the Mtukudzi family’s privacy during this tumultuous time.
