Madzibaba Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines, this time for his heartfelt gesture of generosity and spiritual encouragement toward celebrated gospel power couple Mambo Dhuterere and Mai Dhuterere. In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Sir Wicknell announced the gifting of two brand-new white Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GD6 vehicles and a combined USD $150,000 to the couple in recognition of their profound impact on Zimbabwe’s gospel music landscape.
A Blessed Friday for Mambo Dhuterere and wife
Referring to the day as “Zuva raMambo,” Chivayo described it as a blessed Friday, praising the Dhutereres for their unwavering contribution to Zimbabwean gospel, particularly within the apostolic sects. From their debut on the Dare Guru album to more recent hits like MWEYA NDISESEKEDZE, the couple has not only entertained but also inspired and united communities across the nation — including performances at major events and ruling party ZANU PF rallies.
“You have both united our country through your music and given hope to those in distress,” wrote Sir Wicknell. “You have demonstrated beyond measure that Mwari mumwe chete sezuva!”
The businessman instructed the couple to collect their vehicles from Faramatsi Motors ClubChambers and also extended an invitation to personally hand them their cash gifts — USD $50,000 for Mambo and USD $100,000 for Mai Dhuterere, whom he referred to as the heart of the home and the “mbereko yedu”.
However, beyond the generosity, Sir Wicknell’s post took a poignant turn. Acknowledging circulating rumors about the couple’s alleged marital troubles — including media reports and social media speculation — he publicly addressed the matter, expressing his hope for reconciliation. He clarified that previous reluctance to gift Mambo a vehicle was solely based on Mambo’s own statements downplaying the need for one.
“I have always admired Mai Dhuterere as a strong, supportive wife and partner. She has stood by you from day one… From the depths of my heart, I urge you to find your way back to each other in full love and unity,” said Chivayo.
Drawing from personal experience, Chivayo also reflected on his own journey through a failed marriage. Though his relationship with the mother of his children has ended, he emphasized the importance of respect, co-parenting, and emotional maturity — values he hopes the Dhutereres will uphold for the sake of their family and fans.
He ended his message with a prayer for healing and restoration, offering the couple encouragement rooted in faith and unity.
“None of us are perfect, and every marriage faces storms, but with God all things are possible… You are always better together.”
This touching gesture has not only uplifted the couple but also sparked a wider conversation across Zimbabwe about love, faith, and the power of standing together — both on and off the stage. #ZuvaRaMambo #MwariMumweChete #MweyaNdisesekedze #GodAboveAll
