“Vanderpump Rules” has been nominated for two Emmy Awards following the gripping saga of Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’ shocking affair – aka Scandoval.
The hit Bravo series – which hit an all-time high viewership during Season 10 – scored two nominations for the 2023 awards show: Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing For An Unstructured Reality Program.
For the Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program Award category, the show will be competing against “Indian Matchmaking,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Selling Sunset” and “Welcome to Wrexham.”
“Vanderpump Rules” will also face off against “Deadliest Catch,” “Life Below Zero,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Welcome to Wrexham” in the Outstanding Picture Editing For An Unstructured Reality Program category.
Additionally, Bravo received six nominations for “Top Chef” – including Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Directing For A Reality Program.
The cooking competition series’ longtime host Padma Lakshmi – who announced she would not be returning for the next season – got her own nod with a nomination for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program.
Luckily for the popular reality TV network, neither “Top Chef” nor “Vanderpump Rules” were nominated in the same category, so no need to choose sides.
“Vanderpump Rules” matriarch Lisa Vanderpump previously gushed to Page Six about how “extraordinary” it would be if the cast of her show received recognition.
“It’s been a labor of love the last 11 years on this show,” Vanderpump told us at an FYC event, where she talked about the show in front of Emmy voters on stage on May 23.
Fans of the series have been manifesting the idea of the show getting Emmy nominated ever since cameras picked up filming to capture the aftermath of Scandoval.
The show initially stopped filming for the last season in September, but they set a new precedent when they resumed filming after Ariana Madix alerted producers that she found out her then-boyfriend, 41, was having a months-long affair with her former best friend, 28.
The season culminated with an emotional finale episode showing the immediate feelings and conversations post-Scandoval as well as an explosive three-part reunion capturing the raw emotions between cast members.
Season 11 has since started filming, and fans have been excitedly capturing photos and videos of the cast out and about in Los Angeles.
Sandoval made his return to filming by giving Vanderpump a floral arrangement, while the other cast members – including Madix, 38 – were spotted dancing the night away.
It’s currently unclear if Leviss has officially signed a contract to return, but sources previously told TMZ that a deal was in the works.
