Trevian C. Kutti is one of the people indicted in the most recent Donald Trump indictment, but people in entertainment circles know her as Kanye West’s one-time publicist.
Reports have linked Trevian and Kanye as far back as 2018 after she stopped working with disgraced rapper R. Kelly. Her online biography reporedly stated she was “a member of ‘the Young Black Leadership Council under President Donald Trump'” and that in September of 2018 she “was secured as publicist to Kanye West” and was his “Director of Operations.”
Eighteen people were listed in the 41-count indictment filed by the Fulton County, Georgia district attorney. This included the former president for reportedly trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state.
Trevian was recorded on video trying to get Ruby Freeman, a Georgia election worker that Trump publicly attacked, to admit that she helped rig the election in favour of Joe Biden. Ruby and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss were subject to hundreds of threats and harassments after Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Guliani, claimed the two pulled “suitcases” full of fake ballots from under a table and fed them into the voting machines. County and state election officials quickly debunked this statement.
According to prosecutors, in the video, Trevian knocks on Ruby’s front door and says she was sent by a “high-profile individual” to tell her that she needs to confess to the voter fraud or be taken to jail.
Trevian was charged in Count 30 and Count 31 of the indictment along with Stephen Clifford Lee and Harrison William Prescott Floyd. Count 30 says they “unlawfully conspired to solicit, request, and importune Ruby Freeman, a Fulton County, Georgia, election worker, to engage in conduct constituting the felony offense of False Statements and Writings.” The other count charged them with “influencing witnesses.”
The indictment claims the actions took place around January 4, 2021, two days before the Capitol building was stormed by insurrectionists that believed Biden didn’t win the presidential election fairly. It was also two months after Kanye ended his bid for the presidency.
A spokesperson for Kanye released a statement that said that Trevian was “not associated” with Kanye when she reportedly harassed the election worker. Kanye was a vocal supporter of Trump, once wearing a Make America Great Again hat while on Saturday Night Live. The two were also close, with Kanye visiting Trump in the white house during his presidency.
