Travis Barker is setting the record straight on the rumors that he played a role in Kourtney and Kim Kardashian’s sisterly feud. In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Barker, 47, addressed the “ridiculous” speculation that his crush on Kim nearly two decades ago — which he revealed in his 2016 memoir — has anything to do with her and Kourtney’s current relationship.
“You give people a little information and they think they’ve solved the mystery of ‘this is why they’re fighting.’ It’s just so ridiculous,” the Blink-182 drummer said, reflecting on the mention he made of the SKIMS founder in his memoir.
He wrote that she was “f—— hot” and he kept “secretly checking [her] out” despite the fact that he was dating Paris Hilton at the time.
“It’s like, ‘Kourtney’s fans are worried about Travis. He’s a womanizer.’ Stop it,” Barker told the outlet, adding of the details he included in the memoir, “I obviously shared all that stuff because I wanted to move past it. It was therapeutic for me.”
Barker — who wed Kourtney, 44, in a series of three ceremonies last year — added, “That’s her sister. She knows we used to talk. Nothing bad was going on.”
He also insisted that his wife does not harbor any ill will over his past comments about her sister. Kim has also spoken out about the speculation surrounding her and Barker’s past. In 2021, when Kourtney and the musician began dating, she replied to a follower-submitted question on Instagram denying the rumor.
“NO! False narrative!” Kim wrote in response to a fan asking if she’d ever hooked up with Barker. “We’ve been friends for years, and I’m so happy for him and Kourt.”
As for the Kardashian sisters’ ongoing feud, it appears the two may be ready to put it behind them. The tension ignited after Kim released a collection with Dolce & Gabbana less than a year after Kourtney’s wedding was styled by the Italian fashion house.
In an episode of The Kardashians, the sisters confronted each other, with Kim claiming Kourtney had pulled some inspiration from her own 2014 wedding to Kanye West.
“I got married in Italy. Am I saying you copied me by getting married in Italy? Who performed at my wedding? Andrea Bocelli. Who performed at Kourtney’s wedding? Andrea Bocelli,” Kim said in a confessional.
The feud has been escalating ever since, but Kim seemed to poke fun at the sisterly spat in a response to Kris Jenner’s boyfriend Corey Gamble’s Instagram post. Gamble shared a photo from his own Dolce & Gabbana partnership, and Kim reposted one of the photos and tagged Kourtney, adding, “👀.”
On Kim’s 43rd birthday last week, Kourtney also seemed ready to quash the feud as she wrote on Instagram, “People think the fights they’ve seen on TV are bad if only they got to witness the hair pulling, nail digging ones from early high school.”
She continued, “The joys of sisterhood. I love you deeply forever and always. May God bless this year with love and happiness and abundant joy ❤️.”
