Nineteen-year-old beauty queen Owami Ndlovu is set to depart for India this Thursday, where she will represent her country in an international pageant starting this Saturday.
Competing alongside more than 60 other beauty queens from around the world, Ndlovu is optimistic about her performance.
“I’ve put a lot of effort into my preparation, and I feel confident that I’ll do well with the support of my family and friends,” Ndlovu said. “Despite Zimbabwe being one of the last countries to select its queen, I believe my thorough preparation will pay off.”
Ndlovu shared her journey to this international stage, reflecting on her previous experiences: “I’ve participated in two local pageants. The first one didn’t go as planned, but I persisted and eventually won. Last year, I was supposed to travel for another pageant, but my visa was denied. This opportunity feels like a second chance.”
The pageant’s finals are scheduled for July 7th.
