Former Muvhango actress, Millicent Makhado, got her hands dirty to clean her kasi.
She said keeping Saulsville in Tshwane clean is her priority.
According to Millicent, she swallowed her pride as a celebrity and went to the streets on Thursday, 4 May to pick up rubbish.
Millicent is the co-founder of the Soulbent Project, which was launched in 2007.
She said she was happy that Tshwane mayor Cilliers Brink joined them during the cleaning-up campaign.
“It’s always healthy and good to live in a clean environment,” she said.
Millicent said they clean their kasi regularly and many people have now joined them, which they are happy with.
She said they have a garden project where they grow vegetables and also do recycling. Millicent said she also helps young kids with acting skills.
Millicent told the publication her fans should expect to see her an upcoming SABC2 telenovela towards the end of May 2023.
“I’m not going to give anything away yet, but fans can expect a good show. I did what I do best as an actress,” she said.
Brink said the initiative is very important and they’re glad they’ve partnered with Soulbent Project.
“They are helping us to keep the community clean. We are not winning the war on waste and clean spaces,” he said.
