Zoe Mthiyane speaks on how Robert Marawa supported at her lowest point

Famous Mzansi actress Zoe Mthiyane‘s relationships have made headlines in the past but there’s one she holds in high regard.

While her relationship with Lion King composer Lebo M was a downward spiral laced with lawsuits and arrests, Zoe says award-winning sportscaster Robert Marawa, with whom she also has a child, was the best of them all.

In episode 5 of Unfollowed on Showmax, Zoe spoke well of Robert.

She credits Robert with being her protector within the entertainment industry for seven years before the two became involved.

She also expressed deep gratitude to his family for their support.

“I met them at the time when I was pregnant and my mother had just died, and they came to be family,” she said.

“What it did to me emotionally was go into postnatal depression, which I didn’t know was happening at that time. So trying to commit suicide while having a little newborn baby.”

In contrast, Zoe had nothing good to say about her tumultuous relationship with Lebo.

She said she based Zitha Langa, her abusive character in Generations: The Legacy, on Lebo and the nature of their relationship.

“With that storyline, it was my character who’s abusing Smanga [Moopi Mothibeli].

“I even dipped into my personal experience and channelled him [Lebo M],” she said.
