Leaked direct messages have unveiled a shocking narrative of infidelity and manipulation involving Wicknell Chivayo, Maxine Adam (wife of ‘prophet’ Edd Branson), and Anesu Chari (wife of another preacher, Prophet Evidence Chari). Chivayo’s Instagram account was reportedly hacked, exposing personal conversations with multiple women, including singer Shashl, through screenshots.
According to the leaked messages, Chivayo allegedly bought a car for Maxine, then orchestrated its presentation by Edd as a surprise gift, all while engaging in a romantic relationship with her. In the DMs, Chivayo is seen expressing deep affection towards Maxine, who reciprocates with sentiments like “I miss you too,” indicating a mutual emotional involvement.
Notably, these leaks coincided with Thursday, 18 July, which marked Edd Branson’s birthday. Reacting to the revelations, Chivayo’s ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, commented that she had made the right decision in ending their marriage, alluding to the vanity of their relationship. She further posted, “She was ahead of her time….She walked away from the throne to inherit her peace.”
Beyond personal affairs, Chivayo has faced scrutiny for alleged corruption, leading to a fallout with business partners and political figures within Zanu-PF. Recent leaked audios purportedly show him boasting about his influence over President Emmerson Mnangagwa, which has drawn criticism from both government officials and party youths.
Meanwhile, Chivayo’s former associates, Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe, who are accused of leaking the audios, are reportedly in detention due to various corruption allegations, including exposing a scandal involving over US$100 million purportedly misappropriated through dealings with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and implicating high-ranking officials, including ZEC Chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba.
