Popular KZN dancer Lungy Gwala has died

KwaZulu-Natal musician and dancer, Lungy Gwala, passed away on the evening of June 25, 2024, as confirmed by her family in a statement released shortly after her death.

“In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space, and time to gather as a family to plan for the days ahead,” the family statement read.

The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed. Funeral arrangements have been announced, although details regarding the circumstances leading to her passing remain private.

“We are still coming to terms with the news. We will share more about what happened to Lungy when we are ready. Right now, we are still processing and not okay,” a close friend and fellow musician told ZiMoja.
