Raunchy dancer Beverly “Bev” Sibanda said she will not be going back to South Africa anytime soon following the outbreak of xenophobic attacks in the neighbouring country.
She is, however, enjoying her time here with a series of sold out shows, reconnecting with her local following.
“Things are not well there as being seen in the news and it will be wise for me to stay here until normalcy returns,” she said.
Bev said she has taken over the dance floor in a number of areas and clubs in the neighbouring country that haters have emerged.
“I have made a name for myself there with my demand growing by the day that we have shows almost every day and some groups there are not happy with my success and with this xenophobia, I don’t know what they think of me,” she said.
Bev has spent much of her time in the neighbouring country where she says there are better returns than the local market.
She said her return is also meant to remind many and mark her territory as the queen of the dance floor.
Locally, Bev has assembled an exciting team comprising well-built ladies that have become a hit in local showbiz with their waist wriggling dances, complemented by two male dancers.
On Saturday, Bev and her crew grabbed all the limelight away from the Manchester United and Watford soccer match that was being watched at a club in Mbare where they were performing, forcing people to ditch the match to watch them perform.
“People are loving our act. We have introduced new styles and assembled a new team that is doing well and being appreciated by the people. This is also time to remind many that I’m the queen, ukamboenda pane vanosara vachiita kakufarisa,” she said.
