PICS: Inside Minnie Dlamini’s up and down 2022

Mzansi media personality, Minnie Dlamini shocked many when she and her husband Quinton Jones filed for divorce in February and the hashtag #UnbecomingMrsJones quickly trended.

The pair released a joint statement announcing the split after four years of marriage.

“After months of separation and consultations with our family and a counselor, we have taken the decision to officially file for divorce,” the couple said.

Since then Minnie has kept mum amid several theories about why their marriage ended.

Businesswoman

The media personality launched a luxurious bar lounge in September called The Mansion in Centurion.

“I’m excited to be putting the biggest names in music in this place, but also emerging new talent, which is very important, and to be a part of the culture of growing this industry in the way that actually puts money in artists’ pockets.” Minnie told the publication.

Minnie acquired a part-ownership of the luxury venue that caters for more than 300 patrons and has been planning the venture for nearly a year.

“After the lockdown, business was horrible for people who were gigging, hosting events and all that … so now that the country is open … the more establishments we have, the more artists we’re able to book and we’re able to get our industry back on its feet again.”

Producer

Minnie had an interview with YouTuber Nono D on her series InShot and shared she wasn’t afraid of getting her hands dirty in the earlier years of learning the craft.

She said apart from TV broadcasts, her company also does digital campaigns for brands like Jaguar.

“I’m excited to be creating groundbreaking content that involves everyday people, how do we put ourselves on screen, celebrate who we are, and those are the things always at the back of my mind.”

Leading lady

The media personality said she had a great time filming the movie The Honeymoon in which she plays the role of Lu.

The flick starring Minnie, Tumi Morake, and Kajal Bagwandeen-Singh will hit cinemas next year in March.

“When I first read Lu’s character profile I was a bit nervous to play her. I had been married for five seconds and had no plan of having children. Covid-19 hit and the film kept getting pushed out. By the time we were ready to shoot I was already a mom with a lot more life experience to pull from. She’s not your average wife and mother,” she wrote on her Instagram timeline.
