AKA explains why he was not on the Cotton Fest Johannesburg line-up for 2023

AKA explains why he was not on the Cotton Fest Johannesburg line-up for 2023. The line-up was released on Sunday, and it comprised over 100 South African musicians. However, AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes is not on the list and it left his fans curious as he has performed at the festival before the initiator, Riky Rick passed-on.

Taking to Twitter, the rapper said the organisers couldn’t come to an agreement with him, but he urged people to get their tickets. We couldn’t come to an agreement, but I wish them nothing but the best!! Get your tickets now,” he wrote.

Followers presumed that the agreement was on money as Nota Baloyi once revealed that the organisers demand artists should perform for free.

As the fourth Cotton Fest Johannesburg staging draws closer, its organisers have announced the line-up eventgoers can look forward to.

The event takes place on Saturday, 4 February, at the Old Station in Newtown. Earlier in the month, organisers said the fourth Cotton Fest Johannesburg would include elements such as an open mic contest and Friends Day on Saturday, 28 January, at the Newtown Junction.
