Unfortunately, one of the downsides of being a celebrity is that you always have to portray the very best version of yourself when you step out of your door, as people are always scrutinizing everything you do and are ready with criticism.
A page titled Fake Gucci Community on Instagram has dedicated its time and energy to scrutinizing celebrities’ outfits and uncovering those with fake Gucci items.
Here is a look at some of your favorite South African celebrities who have been accused of wearing fake Gucci.
Somizi Mhlongo
Somizi Mhlongo was one of the first South African celebrities to be accused of wearing fake Gucci by the Fake Gucci Community. The page accused Somgaga of wearing a fake Gucci bucket hat.
It didn’t take long for Somizi to learn about the accusations and when he did; he not only rubbished the accusation but he also decided to clear his name by sharing a video of himself at a Gucci store and showed his receipts, proving that his Gucci was the real deal.
Omuhle Gela
The former Muvhango star is another South African celebrity who has also been accused of wearing fake Gucci products by the Fake Gucci Community.
The first time she was blasted by the page was when she was put on blast for rocking a “fake” Gucci bucket hat.
The second and most recent item that the Instagram page flagged as a fake Gucci item was her Gucci Dionysus mini bag.
Big Zulu
Rapper Big Zulu has also been accused several times of wearing fake Gucci items by the Fake Gucci Community page but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by the accusations.
His first item to be flagged by the page was a Gucci bucket hat that the page claimed was a fake. Big Zulu was also accused of wearing a Gucci t-shirt imitation.
Shauwn Mkhize
Of all the South African celebrities who have been accused of wearing fake Gucci, business mogul Shauwn Mkhize was the last person we expected on the list and she has been accused several times by the page.
Some of her flagged Gucci items that have been labeled as fake by the Fake Gucci Community page include her Gucci ace sneaker with Diamanté and her Gucci jacket.
Pholoso Mohlala
Actor, businessman, and Somizi’s bestie- Pholoso Mohlala is also among the South African celebrities who have been accused of wearing fake Gucci.
The page flagged Pholoso Mohlala’s Gucci belt as a fake because its edges were square, unlike the real Gucci belts which have rounded edges. It seems like nothing ever gets past the eyes of these fashion police.
Besides the named celebrities, the page has accused a good number of other celebrities of wearing fake Gucci including actress Brenda Mhlongo, Faith Nketsi, and Mampintsha, just to name a few.
Being a celebrity is really hard in this country.
