Tango Ncetezo (Paulina) exits The River

Mzansi’s favourite shebeen queen Paulina has bowed out. The character played by Tango Ncetezo on 1Magic’s The River officially bid goodbye to the small screens on the season finale on Friday, 3 February.

Tango took to social media to thank the show and the fans of the show.

The show will also be coming to an end after its upcoming sixth season, which kicks off on Monday 6 February.

“What a ride! To the Kingdom of Refilwe, you are the epitome of talent, and thank you for holding me down each day, with grace and friendship. For teaching me and guiding me.

Steel sharpens steel. I wish you nothing but the best,” she wrote.

“The cast, I thank you, you are amazing and I am honoured to have worked with you,” she continued.

She continued to thank the production company behind the show, Tshedza Pictures.

“To @tshedzapictures, thank you for the work. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for your trust in me. Eternally grateful, fam,” she wrote.

She received messages of love from people on her Instagram, saying she killed her role.

Influencer Tshepi Vundla wished her the best.

“You killed your character, love. Wishing you all the best,” she wrote.

Producer and actress, Lulu Hela said she can’t wait to see where she goes next.

“There will never be another Paulina! Congratulations on your incredible journey thus far!! You are so immensely talented! Excited to see where God takes you next!!!” she wrote.

Kamo Modisakeng commented: “I love you so much. You did such an amazing job as Paulina! Wishing you the very best for your future plans.”

Paulina died just after finding out the true maternity of her child.

Her sister wife, Angelina (Nokuthula Ledwaba), stole her baby a few months back and Paulina figured it out a few weeks ago.

Last week, she kidnapped the child and ran away with him. She had just taken a home DNA test kit to find out if he really is her son and the test showed that she’s the mum.

Another character that bid goodbye to the show on Friday was Zolani (Lawrence Maleka). He also died on the show.
