Lady Chevrons lost by 8 runs to Thailand in first ODI

THE Zimbabwe Women’s national cricket team, the Lady Chevrons, kicked off their one-day international series on a losing note after a 78-run defeat to Thailand in Bangkok this Wednesday.

The Lady Chevrons who are back in action for the first time since the World Cup qualifiers last year have their work cut out after losing the first of three ODI matches against Thailand this Wednesday.Needing 155 runs to win, Zimbabwe however lost 5 wickets for 57 runs in 16.2 overs.

The Lady Chevrons were all out within 25 overs in which they staggered to a paltry 76 runs, leaving Thailand to win by 78 runs and take a one-nil lead in the series.

The two sides will be back on the crease for the second OD1 this Friday before wrapping up the series on Sunday.

After the OD1 series, Zimbabwe and Thailand will square off in a four-match T20I series.The final T20I will be played on the 29th of this month.
