Zimbabwe seeks to enhance regional integration

ZIMBABWE is positioning itself for enhanced regional integration when it hosts the Africa Public Service Day on the 23rd of June in the resort City of Victoria Falls.

The country is set to utilise the Africa Public Service Day to strengthen regional coordination when delegates converge in Victoria Falls in less than two months’ time.

Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister, Professor Paul Mavima who addressed the media this Thursday confirmed that preparations are at an advanced stage with an inter-ministerial committee having been put in place.

“We have made arrangements and there is a ministerial task-force that is already working on preparing for this celebration. It will take place in Victoria Falls from the 21st to the 23rd of June in Victoria Falls and we are very excited about this,” he said.

The Africa Public Service Day (APSD) was set aside to celebrate civil servants and public service prganisations across Africa.

This year’s celebrations will run under the theme: ‘The African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) – a Fit for Purpose African Public Administration to Succeed.’
