Light oil and gas confirmed in Muzarabani

The Muzarabani oil and gas exploration exercise being carried out by Invictus Energy is progressing well with the compositional analysis done thus far confirming the presence of light oil and gas at Mukuyu Well 1.

The latest results from an analysis done in the Muzarabani basin following the drilling of the Mukuyu 1 well have confirmed the presence of light oil and gas condensate as well as Helium.

The existence of Helium content is consistent with global commercial producers’ expected ratios, signaling the economic potential of the Muzarabani basin.

According to Invictus Energy Managing Director, Mr Scott Macmillan, the results from the mud gas compositional analysis definitively prove the presence of hydrocarbons in multiple reservoir pay zones at Mukuyu 1.

“The analysis shows the presence of light oil and rich natural gas condensate with high ratios estimated between 30 to 135 barrels per million cubic feet,” noted Invictus Energy Managing Director, Mr Scott Macmillan.

“The samples demonstrate a consistently high-quality natural gas composition exhibiting low inert content containing less than 1 percent carbon dioxide,” he added.

For Zimbabwe, the existence of commercially viable oil and gas is welcome for the country’s economic development matrix as energy is a key enabler of economic activities.

The leader of Ebenezer Prophetic Ministries in Chitungwiza, Pastor Ezekiel Masiyandima, has been arrested and charged with fraud. Masiyandima made headlines earlier this year when he left his wife of 18 years to marry a 21-year-old congregant, Melania Madamombe. Now, he is in trouble with the law for selling a non-existent stand in Epworth to a church member for US$2 500.

Masiyandima’s decision to marry a young member of his church divided the congregation, with some accusing him of breaking the holy vows of marriage. Despite this, the pastor went ahead with his decision to leave his wife, Portia Chiwanga, who had accused him of witchcraft following the mysterious deaths of three of their children.Learn More
