Mercy Pakela opens up about being mugged Jozi taxi rank

South African singer, Mercy Pakela has opened up about one of her worst nightmares after being mugged at a Johannesburg taxi rank. The seasoned singer and music activist said she was mugged in downtown Johannesburg recently.

She said she was at a local taxi rank when robbers pounced on her and tried to take away her belongings. Despite the seasoned musician being mugged, little is known if she reported the incident.

The star singer said: “I was walking, the lady tried to stick her dirty little fingers in my bag, but I caught her.”

The seasoned musician has it that it was a syndicate.

Mercy Pakela said: “Ndathi, voetsek sathane. Kanti, she was with two other women in the syndicate. They tried to pull me into a corner and take my things. But I fought. I fought.”

Mercy Pakela has it that the incident happened while she was travelling for a meeting scheduled for Sandton. She has it that two female ladies attempted to pickpocket her, but she managed to notice it and confront them.

In the wake of her confrontation, they tried to mug her, but she managed to escape, only losing her necklace.

However, Mercy Pakela has often made headlines in recent years. She once pulled a shocker when she revealed that a fellow industry mate once tried to have her assaulted.

However, in the backdrop of the claims, she refused to disclose the name but made it known that a woman planned the failed attempt after a concerned star tipped her off.
