PIC: Is this Zahara’s body in the casket?

A picture of a woman’s dead body in a casket presumed to be singer Zahara has gone viral on social media. And according to tweeps, the star’s sister is allegedly behind it. But is it a bad Photoshop, or is there any truth to it?

The 36-year-old entertainer died earlier this week amid liver complications.

On the X platform, tweeps were shocked to see an image of a woman resembling Zahara in her open casket. The image was posted by the tabloid News O Clock, with a caption that read: “A picture of the late singer Zahara lying in a casket. This picture was allegedly shared by her sister”.

While many were shocked at the picture of the star – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana – who died earlier this year, others were not convinced it was real.

By the looks of it, it’s easy to see that the image has been edited. The face of the singer has been superimposed on a woman lying in her casket.

“Bad photoshopping,” cried one tweep.

Meanwhile, Zahara’s sisters Lumka and Bandeza have shared how the entertainer was determined to get better.

Bandezwa said during the funeral service on Saturday, 23 December: “She kept saying she wanted to do a gospel album. When she called on her way to the hospital on Friday, she kept telling us not to worry [and that] she would be fine.

“She said she was glad she fell ill in November because her December is busy.”

Lumka added that the family was shattered. She said: “When they said she passed away, I couldn’t believe it. I thought, ‘God, where are we going to start? What are we going to do without Bulelwa?’”
