Warrant of Arrest Issued for Musician Mbeu

Mbeu now faces a warrant of arrest, issued four months after a serious road accident in Harare. The incident, which occurred on New Year’s Day, has ignited a bitter dispute over alleged negligent driving and accountability. The crash happened at the busy intersection of Harare Drive and Borrowdale Road, an area known for heavy traffic.

Mbeu was driving a Toyota Aqua when his vehicle collided with a Peugeot 407 driven by Patikayi Murisa. Since the collision, Murisa has accused the artist of evading responsibility and failing to cooperate in resolving the matter amicably. This situation has escalated tensions between the two parties, capturing public attention.

In an interview with the media, Murisa expressed his frustration over the prolonged lack of communication from Mbeu’s side. “It has been five months of hell for me because Mbeu has not been picking up my calls after he caused the accident. I didn’t know him personally until that day, and as a celebrity, I expected him to cooperate,” he said.

Murisa’s complaints intensified after what he describes as months of being ignored by Mbeu, only for the musician to reach out following the issuance of the arrest warrant. Mbeu reportedly requested a meeting to be held at Highlands Police Station last Thursday. However, Murisa remains cautious about the sincerity of this gesture, given the delays and evasions prior to this point.

Further complicating the situation, Murisa revealed that Mbeu initially cited illness as the reason for his non-responsiveness when the accident happened. Subsequently, Mbeu referred Murisa to his wife, Faith Mashami, who reportedly told Murisa that she was no longer living with the artist.

Mbeu Faces Legal Action Following Harare Road Accident Dispute

Screenshots shared by Murisa show a message from Mashami stating, “May you please contact Mbeu directly, we are no longer staying together.” Despite these communications, Murisa claims to have been left in limbo, unable to make any meaningful progress for months. “I was stuck for five months trying to find him,” Murisa lamented. “I didn’t want it to come to this, but my car is still parked at home, unrepaired.”

Mbeu, for his part, has admitted to the delays but insists on his willingness to cooperate going forward. “I know the guy, I am meeting him on Thursday. We are actually talking,” he told reporters.

Beyond the legal and logistical fallout, Mbeu took to social media to share a deeply personal reflection on the accident’s impact. In a heartfelt post, he wrote:

On the 1st of January 2025, just a day before my second born’s birthday, I got into a horrible accident and almost lost my life. God gave me another chance; I will make it up to you, Imelah Nyahora, for your next birthday. Daddy loves you. A life for a life, and since God gave me another chance, I owe Him my life. I will rise again and even stronger! Mbeu ndini!”

The public has closely followed the case, which highlights the broader challenges victims face when seeking accountability from high-profile individuals involved in accidents. Many sympathize with Murisa’s plight, noting the difficulties ordinary citizens often encounter when pursuing justice against celebrities or influential figures.

The pending meeting between Mbeu and Murisa is now eagerly anticipated by both the parties involved and the public. It is hoped that this encounter will lead to a resolution, offering some closure to what has been a protracted and emotionally taxing ordeal.

As this story unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsibility and communication in the aftermath of accidents, regardless of one’s status or fame. The case also underscores the role of law enforcement in ensuring that justice is served fairly and promptly.

With emotions running high and legal consequences looming, all eyes remain on the developments in this high-profile case, as the Zimbabwean community waits to see whether Mbeu will take full responsibility and make amends.
