A 27-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stoning his ex-girlfriǝnd (23) to death in Dzingidzingi Village on Saturday, 8 April.
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the victim was allegedly on her way home from the tavern with her friend when they ran into her ex-boyfriǝnd at about 3 am.
“It is alleged that the two had a confrontation before the suspect assaulted the victim with a stone.
“Her friend screamed for help and ran to households nearby. When she returned, the victim was critically injured and unconscious.
“The suspect was nowhere to be found,” Ledwaba said.
He said the victim was rushed to the hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. She was identified as Nokuthula Sithole, living at Dzingidzingi Village in the Mopani area.
The suspect, accompanied by his relative, turned himself at Giyani Police Station. The cops were informed, and a murder case was opened.
The suspect will soon appear in the Giyani Magistrates Court.
