Mzansi DJ Ntombezinhle Jiyane, popularly known as DJ Zinhle, shared an update on her seven-year-old daughter Kairo Forbes after losing her father, rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known by his stage name, AKA.
AKA was shot dead outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on Friday 10 February.
Umlilo hitmaker DJ Zinhle let her 4.9 million Instagram followers know that her daughter — seven-year-old Kairo Forbes is feeling better today. This comes after Kairo lost her dad — rapper AKA after he was killed in Durban on Friday 10 February.
In the video Kairo tells her mom that she feels pretty.
“Kairo, how are you feeling today?” DJ Zinhle asks.
“Pretty,” Kairo replies.
“@kairo.forbes is feeling pretty today. Thank you for your love and prayers. She is so old,” she wrote on the Instagram Story. Take a look…

Before now, DJ Zinhle had been silently mourning the unexpected death of her “baby daddy” rapper AKA. She shared several photos of AKA and Kairo on Instagram.

AKA and Zinhle were rumoured to be romantically linked from 2012 but only made their relationship public in 2014. Zinhle reportedly accused AKA of cheating on her with media personality Bonang Matheba in 2015 and called it quits. In July 2015, AKA and Zinhle welcomed Kairo Forbes.
The pair reportedly got back together in 2018 but broke up again in 2019. AKA then began dating Anele “Nelli” Tembe, who tragically passed away on 11 April 2021, just two weeks after the rapper paid lobola for her.
Nelli plunged to her death from the tenth floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. The rapper later moved on with rapper Nadia Nakai. While DJ Zinhle reportedly began dating musician Bongani Mohosana, popularly known as Murdah Bongz in 2020.
After sharing photos of AKA and Kairo, DJ Zinhle posted a snap with Murdah.
She also posted a video of Kairo and AKA dancing together and turned off the comments on the video.
