Job Sikhala’s trial continues

The trial of CCC legislator Job Sikhala continued this Monday with the State playing a video which it argued was posted by Sikhala in June last year claiming that Moreblessing Ali of Chitungwiza was murdered by ZANU PF supporters.

Ali’s mutilated body was found in a disused well after she had gone missing for more than a week.

The court heard that while the Zimbabwe Republic Police were still investigating the matter, Sikhala allegedly posted on social media platforms claiming that she was murdered by ZANU PF supporters.

The court further heard that by posting the video clip knowing that investigations were still underway, he
misled the Police investigations and redirected their focus.

However, Sikhala through his defence council is denying the charges saying the video was choreographed.

In another matter, suspected habitual fraudster Shepherd Katuruza appeared in court on allegations of fraud involving US$50 000 in a botched residential stands deal.

Katuruza is facing three counts of fraud after he duped three people on different occasions.

One of the victims who fell prey to Katuruza’s trap is a local Pastor Cleopas Manyika who lost US$50 000 and a Toyota double cab vehicle with a total value of US$500 000 after he was promised a non-existent church stand.
