Gwanda South vows to vote for Zanu PF in huge numbers

The people of Gwanda South have vowed to vote resoundingly for the ZANU PF party after the ruling party spearheaded people-centered projects in the area.

With the election clock ticking, the sight of scotch carts racing towards the Thibele area of Gwanda South could mean one thing, ZANU PF members going for the last rally in the area.

“We are going to win big, in 2018 I had a dream that meant that our party was going to win and we won and this year the dream has come again,” said a ZANU PF supporter.

Another added, “We are now waiting for 2028 this one is done already.”

“The second republic has spearheaded development projects in our area, and we are going to vote resoundingly,” said another supporter.

ZANU PF national assembly candidate in the area, Dr Ompile Marupi made the President’s call for peace and unity of purpose.

“We are a peace-loving community, we call each other cousins wherever you see sotho speaking people. Our President is always preaching for peace, let’s all do that. We are your sons, we are here to serve you. To bring whatever you tell us to bring for the betterment of our community,” said Dr Marupi.

ZANU PF is targeting more than five million votes for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“Let’s all go and vote for team ZANU PF, when you give Mpathiswa 2500 votes, give Marupi the same and the same for the President. This is the team ZANU PF, you made us proud in 2018 and repeat that,” said ZANU PF Central Committee Member, Cde Cecilia Nbubiwa.

Zimbabwe will hold general elections this Wednesday, with people set to elect a president, 210 national assembly members and over 1 000 councillors.

In other news – Man stabbed to death over girlfriend

A 41-year-old man from Bulawayo was murdered in Filabusi following a misunderstanding with his drinking mate over a girlfriend. Matabeleland South acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandolwenkosi Moyo confirmed the murder.

The deceased was identified as Sindiso Mkwebu from Nketa high-density suburb in Bulawayo. The suspect is Mehluli Moyo from 2 Hopoplan village under, Chief Bunini Somabula in Gweru. Read More
