DJ Ollah 7 breaks silence on reports he was arrested

Former Star FM presenter, DJ Ollah 7 who trended on social media yesterday after reports that he was arrested has finally broken his silence The reports started after a video of him being handcuffed in Harare’s central business district was widely shared on various social media platforms.

In a video shared on his official Facebook page, DJ Ollah 7 addressed reports that he had been arrested following a car accident near KFC Joina City in Harare’s CBD. DJ Ollah 7 quashed the arrest rumours, assuring his followers that he’s tucked away safely in an undisclosed private location.

“I am very much safe. Handina kana kusungwa. I’m just hearing these funny bloggers saying, “Ollah asungwa”. Ollah is right here at a private location. I won’t tell you kuti ndirikupi. In a private location, not arrested. Kana munhu asungwa kunoita docket ku police uku. Handiti ka,” Ollah 7 said.

DJ Ollah 7 then provided more details about the incident shown in the video. He explained that it occurred on Wednesday when another vehicle, a Toyota Aqua, accidentally collided with his car while reversing. Fortunately, his car was unscathed.

“So, there was a small car ka Aqua so, kaka reverser ndokubva karovera motikari yangu. Haina kukuvara. Asi mufesi uyu anga akatakura mapurisa mumota make. So paakarovera akadzika ndobva auya kwandiri ndokubva anditi, “Sorry mukoma ndarovera motikari yenyu.” Ndakadzikawo mumota mangu. Ndadzika mumotikari mangu ndakamuti, “Okay it’s okay. Ko hindava?” Zvikanzi, “Ndakatakura mapurisa so vanga vachinditi ndi rivhese saka ndazoenda up ndakuroverai by mistake” and I said, “It’s okay. No problem,’” DJ Ollah 7 explained what happened.

DJ Ollah 7 further described how he approached the police to seek their assistance in resolving the matter and attending to the accident scene. However, instead of helping, the police officers became offended and started shouting angrily at him.

Amid the chaos, a plainclothes police officer suddenly slapped handcuffs on DJ Ollah 7 without bothering to inquire about the situation. Thankfully, bystanders stepped in to explain, leading to his swift release. DJ Ollah 7 expressed gratitude to his loyal fans for their concern about his well-being after the video of his supposed arrest circulated online.
